If you've had a lucid dream before, then you know what an incredible experience it can be. It's an exciting feeling to suddenly realize that you have waking awareness within the dream state. When it happens, you're able to interact with your dreams in amazing ways.
Attaining lucidity makes your dream come to life and allows you to take control. Normal dreams tend to be quite strange, often lacking in logical flow. It's only when you wake up that you realize how absurd the dream was. In a lucid dream, your heightened awareness can help maintain a sense of continuity. This, along with the vivid nature of lucid dreams makes them easier to remember.
Paying attention to your dreams can be a deeply rewarding experience. Although you can use them to live out your fantasies, dreams aren't solely for entertainment. There are also practical reasons to immerse yourself in the experience. Dreams can provide you with insight into your subconscious mind or help you find a solution to a real world problem.
Many great thinkers have used dreams as a way to gain insight into a situation or problem. Both Thomas Edison and Salvador Dalà used dreams as a source for creative inspiration. The chemist Fredriech Kukulé discovered the structure of the benzene ring when he envisioned an ouroboros in a dream. Whether you're practical or creative, you'd be surprised how lucid dreaming can inspire you.

I'm sure there's something you've wanted to experience that simply isn't possible in waking life. When you think of a lucid dream as your own virtual reality game you'll realize that anything is possible. One of my favorite things to do in a lucid dream is to fly. Taking off from the ground and soaring above trees is an incredible rush. It's one of the most exhilarating experiences I've ever had, but flying just barely scratches the surface of what can be done in a dream. With just a bit of practice you too will be able to influence your dream world to make your fantasy come to life.
